About the original NHLKIDS 13U Tournament

This is a very unique and prestigious tournament. This tournament is considered a parody as it is inspired by the 1967-68 NHL season consisting of the original 6 teams in the east and 6 expansion teams in the west. It is a four year tournament consisting of seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen. Strictly for Peewee and Atom players born in 2009-2012.  The way the teams are made is 12 general managers (adults) are selected by the commissioner and then their names are put into a lottery for the first pick. Just like the NHL salary cap, each team must respect the anniversary cap. A team can have no more than three players born in the same year and not less than two players born in the same year.  That means that each team will consist of 3 2009 players, 3 2010 players, 3 2011 players and 2 2012 players. We make it as real as possible for the kids to feel special and important. From official NHL game pucks to the uniforms, to the championship rings and trophies, to the live lottery and draft, and even a Conn Smythe trophy for the tournament mvp Eastern and Western finals. 

2022 AGE GROUPS ARE DIVIDED AS FOLLOWS:

2009 Senior (3 per team)

2010 Junior  (3 per team)

2011 Sophomore (3 per team)

2012 Freshmen (2 per team) 

The 2012 players coming are special talent, all are elite players. We only select 24 2012 players out of 132 players.
